WBCN's Farewell

Just real sad listening to this. Hearing what good radio sounded like. As a person in my 20s I can only imagine what radio is supposed to sound like. I loved the "barrel" skit my the "duke of madness"

Why must radio play the same songs over and over. Aren't people sick of 90s grunge? How much longer can Nirvanna, Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, Alice and Chains, and Stone Temple Pilots be the core bands?

WFNX is getting worse, I have recently heard Papa Roach and Linkin Park there. NO THANKS!!!

heard the harder they come and Jonathan Richman's Roadrunner in the same set this afternoon

Roadrunner was chosen by three separate jocks today. One of the best all time Boston songs. Worthy of three airings!

Commercials? Why even bother playing spots at this point? What if they didn't? The station is only gonna be around for 15 more minutes!!

I will never forget tonight. AMAZING final broadcast all this weekend. WBCN may have died a slow, 4 year death, but WBCN was easily the better rock station in the city. Although part of me says "I wish Sports Hub would close down and they'd re-launch BCN", you know it wouldn't be the same.

Rest in Peace, WBCN. You were my first rock station, and you'll always be the unreachable standard.

I am listening on the FM Dial here in St Johnsbury Vt over a bit of meteor skip here and there 160 miles away. I will getting WBCN up here in the middle of nowhere woods

BCN signed off at 12:05 with the WBMX/WBMX HD-1 legal IDs, and went to static.

((((---what's with the fake white noise? ---- the stereo pilot's still lit and it sounds like someone just adjusted the volume on it --- )))

Wow, what a perfect farewell choice. And the montage that followed was beautiful too. A+++

And who would have thought the last voice of BCN would be the Cosmic Muffin? :)

is it just going to sound like stereo static for 24 hours with the call letters WBMX at the top of the hour?

I think it's good they did it this way, fake or not. It would be really depressing to transition from what they did to some guy screaming about sports. Simple silence is perfect....

Edit: I mean, some loud obnoxious promo for Mix 104 or whatever is coming on there.

Its Really Hitting Me Now As I Said Before I'm Crying My Eyes Out. :-( (RIP WBCN 1968-2009) P.S. If Anyone Recorded The Final Show From 7-12 Let Me Know Because My Computer Froze And I Lost The First 2 Hours.
