WBEN a "Godsend"

First off, Dandy: 96.1 hasn't called itself "Joy" in at least a few years, so do try to keep up.

First Niagara Center hasn't called itself HSBC in a few years, either. I think everyone understands though. Also, I'm not in the habit of keeping up with stations that were removed from my radio over 10 years ago.

Is Laura Daniels still there? I think that was the final nail in the coffin over on that station. It just got worse and worse until it was unbearable.

I didn't misread. I understand that WYRK is #1. Number 1 in how many people are listening, whether they want to or not.

In the diary survey, very few people write down listening that they did not initiate themselves.

We saw when the PPM came to the bigger markets that talk stations did not increase in cume, but mass appeal music stations such as CHR, Country, AC, Classic Hits and Classic rock saw literal explosions in their cume numbers due to the PPM's ability to pick up secondary listening and listening where someone else controlled the radio.

People die. But it's amazing that only white can be used around here to describe an audience.

If 99% or so of a stations audience is non-Hispanic white, then it is fair to describe the audience that way.

This is just as obvious as saying that "all" the audience of a Spanish language station will be Hispanic.

And when a station like WBEN does get a tiny percentage of non-white listeners, it is usually attributable to ascription in the diary processing / editing stage, not actual listening.

Point 1: That's not an excuse. Then again, since you pimp WBEN any chance you get, it's understandable.

Point 2: Yes, Laura's still there.

It's not my job to keep up on un-listenable stations, and I don't report to you, so I'll continue to call it Joy. As unjoyable as it is to listen to.

No, it's just your job to kiss WBEN's tuchus. And it's also why no one takes you seriously.

No, my job, on an internet radio discussion forum (on it's last limb at that) is to discuss radio, and it's usually things I like or don't like. I can't help it that the things I like happen to be on WBEN most of the time. Even though I've shared many criticisms of that station, and have praised other stations, you came up with a fake fact.

Thank you for proving my point many times over.

And I'd bet the guy in charge of this board would love to know that this board is "on it's last limb".
