WBIH Channel 29 Is Getting a Makeover

That's right The X, Jason Davenport and everyone else reading. Here is the info, as I found it on Alabama Broadcast Media Page. Hope you enjoy!

29 WBIH Selma 1,450,000 430 ACN, Urban American TV
(to be: CW)

P.S. However, Mr. Zach didn't say when this change would occur. I am assuming that it will take place, once the CW network offically signs on.

WRJM is Getting a Makeover Too...

Thought you would want to know, that Mr. Zach is also saying that WRJM Montgomery will become a part of the My Network family, once they sign on.

This is simply amazing and shocking to me.

i highly doubt WBIH would actually ever change to the CW, WBMY would by default become the CW....
______________

How in Tuscaloosa did they manage to pull THAT off?

Honestly, WRJM 67 going with MyNetwork TV isn't that much of a surprise. NewsCorp/Fox is supplying it at no charge, and most UPN/WB full-power stations only have the other 22 hours of programming to worry about. As a 5 million watt UHF on channel 67 (DT-48), profits are probably already pretty thin without going non-stop infomercials.

But if....IF what you say is true, and WBIH 29 has snagged The CW, then either one of three things is happening:

1)29 is getting bought by new owners
2)CBS/Time Warner really expects the Montgomery area to outgrow the cable only WBMY, or...
3)George Flinn has sold his soul to the devil, or similarly, hired Drew Rosenhaus to negotiate on his behalf.

Okay, I'm 'probably' kidding about #3, but the prospect of WBIH ever hooking up with one of the [soon-to-be] five major networks is just unthinkable. Or, with the pace that MyNetwork is signing affiliates, maybe The CW is just desperate to keep up...really desperate.
______________

I'm still checking into that. Right now, it's not a done deal but Mr. Zach told me, that someone from Montgomery had heard that WBIH was going to switch to The CW. This may be a rumor but then again, it may be the truth.

Stay tuned...

A simple posting of unconfirmed information.

Zack has since updated his site with the following message, "...I had mistakenly noted WTTO (Birmingham) and WBIH (Selma-Montgomery) as picking up the CW network. This was an error on my part..."

Yep, I did say that. :)

That information was from two different affiliate lists posted online in April. The stuff regarding the CW was me totally misreading an old article from the Birmingham News.

D'oh! Still don't know much about the CW stuff...

Something needs to be done with WBIH, isn't it just kinda wasting power?

This TV station is wasting power. Wish Dr. Flinn would do something with it.

Thanks for your response to this post.

I'm the same fellow that sends you the updates, in case you was wondering.
