What they should do (but likely won't) is:
- Move the 7pm news to WBNX outright as a lead-in to CW primetime and make it an hour; that's already been done with CW affiliates with news-intensive Fox affiliate sisters in Denver and St. Louis and it works just fine. They would still be very competitive against news on 3, 5 and 43.
- Launch a live 11pm newscast for WBNX.
- Move Extra and TMZ to WJW and air both at 7:30 and 11 and run Family Feud at 7. Dish Nation (which I'm shocked is still on the air) can stay on WBNX.
- Move Jennifer Hudson to WJW and put it at 11am. It means one less hour of New Day Cleveland but reair that from 1 to 2 on WBNX.
- Pair up Big Bang Theory with Young Sheldon and air both on WBNX in the 6 and 10pm hours.
- Put Friends reruns back on weeknights on WBNX or move them to WJW.
It's fairly obvious now that the days of running game shows for eight straight hours (even cheapo ones like
People Puzzler) are going away on WBNX and the lineup will be dramatically different.
