You can insult the Daily Bugle (The Altoona Mirror) but don't insult my wife. She works for the Penn State Altoona Campus and for the time being is the breadwinner in this family. She has her four year degree. I suggest someone put in a call to Dave and end this once and for all. I am sorry that I brought it up. As for as googling stuff, I don't trust it. Too much inaccurate misleading information on the net!

If 94.3 is going country; what format is 94.7? I'm not in the area anymore and I just saw this so I figure I'd ask to satisfy my curiosity. When I am down that way; typically, I listen to 94.3. I was under the impression that 94.7 was AAA or a similar adult contemporary format. I wonder if this will affect the frog since the listenership there is quite embedded (at least I think so).

I was under the impression that the Q competed quite well with the Rockies. Apparently I was mistaken. IMHO Adam was a pretty good jock and I wish him luck as he moves onto his next "shift".

My wife now says she hears it as "Borger". It could be a slight New Jersey accent that is throwing us off. I know that the local newspaper still calls him Barner. I called Friday after his talkblock but he was out. I left a message to return my call so we'll get an answer here. Be patient.

I haven't posted on here in some time and as of late, I have been trying to bite my tongue but I feel something has to be said. First off, the man's name is BARGER! Dave Barge. Simply check the wrta.com website and click on staff. Second, listen to the man's program and hear how he pronounces his name and no, he doesn't have a New Jersey accent. Third, check out the numerous times his name has appeared in the Altoona Mirror.

So Sorry...I never intended to insult your wife. I have one too and I just say to her "yes dear... you are right dear" and all is good ;D As for the mirror... they don't need any help being insulted. I too have a 4 year degree but I too can, and do make mistakes. (just ask my wife!) But am I insulted if I am proven wrong?....NO. I am humbled and greatful because I have learned something. And one other thing on what you have said....

Oh Crap....NOW you did it. I know it was a typo but you just put fuel on the fire with (Barge).

Are we sure his name isn't Barge now?..... I'm waitin.... ;D
 
Yes, that was a typo. It was and is BARGER. I know for sure now. I ran into him over the weekend at Pannera Bread. That stuff is really good and might not be a bad addition to my fry wagon once I get it fired up this summer. I'm glad we got the name thing settled. In fact, Barger is on the air right now as I type this and he does say B-A-R-G-E-R
