WBZ legend Dave Maynard dies at 82

Dick Pace was a really nice guy. He did a Sunday morning music on BZ shift for years. I never heard him when he was full time but that Sunday morning show was on auto pilot.

I believe when Raleigh moved to overnights Janet Jaghelian was brought in from WJCC in Norfolk to do mid-days.

Very nice memorial service for Dave this morning at St Cecilia's. Gary LaPierre and Dave's oldest daughter gave warm tributes (Gil Santos was also scheduled to speak but LaPierre mentioned that Gil is in the ICU at Mass Gen with a VERY nasty case of pneumonia.)

Lots of family in attendance, but didn't see many (Listo, Clark, Dan Rae, John Henning) from my days in the biz (although I could have well not recognized some of them due to the passage of the years.)

TSB

John Henning passed away in '10. That would explain why he wasn't there.

I had forgotten that. Someone who could have been his twin brother was there.
