What they really need is consistant programming Monday through Friday. Not a bunch of different programs scattered throughout the week. Yes, Chester County Courier is probably an attempt at this, but how nice would it be to have a consistant afternoon show 3-5... or I guess 3-4:30 during winter months. Morning show, SwapShop, Midday, Afternoons, consistant throughout the week. Then, all the specialty programming on Saturday. Sundays would still be with the churches I guess since there is a steady income there...
Just a thought... I guess I could be wrong.

Or, at the very least, schedule hours of oldies at a certain time throughout the week - but, hey, you have to find ways to pay the bills somehow (I'm assuming some, if not all of the talk programming outside of the morning show and Swap Shop are brokered).

I know this thread started about oldies... But whatever happened to serving the community with local programming? And besides, being relatively well aquainted with the oldies library at CHE, I think you'd get tired of the song selection pretty fast. Not that I'm knocking oldies, it's just either the song library needs to be vastly expanded, or they need to concentrate on filling their weekday with consistant local programming.
Having said all that, there's a 24 hour stream on a daytimer that could be utilized for oldies I guess. You'll still need to grow the library, and maybe worry about some crazy performance royalty...

Oldies from 5 to closing... is this the firm schedule now? I know the hours change as the days shorten up in fall and they'll eventually be off at 4:30 in winter, but what a waste of time until then. Maybe some kind of seasonal talk show for drive time until the early sign-off.

As it stands now, way too many current hosts miss their once a week shows WAAAYYY too often. Too many shows are repeated as 'best-ofs'. Why doesn't someone suggest building in a little safety net and pre-record something for a rainy day. Something you can plug in if you really can't make it. Work a little bit for your privilege of being on the air.
If I had a once a week show and was lucky enough to be on the air anywhere, you'd better believe I'd find some way to make it in and do my show. If it's not a brokered show and you're being allowed air time... show up for your damn show.

Matt Lombardo is growing into a solid performer and is quite good as the sports talker. Likes to throw bombs... I like that stuff.
In the AM, I like Matt but also liked Tom Wang's show.

Sam WTRI in Brunswick Maryland is off the air again, I'm south of York and can listen to WCHE during the day here! WWKB is a distant 2nd. Bruce Collier and myself gave them the WHYL and Oldies Radio 1620 dot com audio tweak last month, seems to have made a difference.

Looks like some big changes have gone down at WCHE lately. They've moved Lombardo to mornings, the Raffaele Report is now daily and Lombardo's back for sports talk from 2-3. What does everyone think of the new format changes?
Mr. Lombardo (if you are going to use this website to plug your own show anonymously you should hide your email in your profile or at least get an email without your last name in it),
I’m not into sports so I don’t listen to your show, but I do like the accessibility of small radio stations like WCHE. I wish you the best of luck. I prefer the classic sound of WCHE from July 21st, 2003. You can hear it by clicking here:

Ha! You've been itching to do that! Were you in a state of arousal as a man with alcohol involved when you posted that link?
Boing!

In a word, yes. Good times.

What happened to phila4for4’s posts? I hope everything is okay. He’s vanished from the entire website! My replies make no sense without your original posts. I wonder if your general manager is curtailing your 1st Amendment rights.
