"That's my own personal take. They can spin it all they want," he said Tuesday. "It's obvious they didn't bring Tom (Gamble) back in the morning with me and I think that had a lot to do with budget."

suuuuure, skinny. it had nothing to do with the fact that you sound like a 12 year old boy, are out of touch with nearly everything sports and pop culture, and come across as condescending.

also...
@ tito
you are right. i can't say that i "know". my bad. in my new(er) profession - branding/marketing - i conduct a lot of focus groups to test various impressions of products and services, and i'm just using the same logic when it comes to how many people from this area call mancow's show.

Not a problem but when you do focus groups for products I hope you do much more scientific methods or else you may end up with the next Crystal Pepsi (which I loved by the way). I like Mancow, though only in small doses and his ADD style show gets pretty old pretty fast.

I haven't listened to Tim Lewis yet but the Greg Doyle/Mo show is horrific. Honestly they'd be better running 60 minutes of commercials per hour. Neither one of them knows anything about baseball and Doyle was complaining that Marty's name was mentioned before his after they played the clip from last nights game. I'd rather hear 3 hours of the singing dogs than those two, and in a debate on sports my money would be on the dogs.

while i remain a listener of mancow, he's a shadow of his former self. when he talks about his pre-9/11 days, he's not kidding. the crew was totally different. turd, freak, freak's niece (though she may be marissa), cowboy ray, brian the whipping boy.... those were the days. when 'cow came from the blaze to Q101 in chicago it was an all out war. see, in the chicago market there's actual competition for listeners, and when you hear dude on the CBS affiliate that used to be on ABC, it's a big deal. needless to say, it was shocking, sad, and enteraining (in a "i'm laughing AT you..." way) when i moved here. but anyway, 'cow is what he is and i think he'll do fine here.

as for mo and doyle, i got ripped a new one on lance's former board when i suggested that mo have his own show b/c he - unlike lance - has a natural feel with the callers. lance is nothing short of awkward with other humans. but hearing mo with boyle is a bit rough at times. i think doyle would do well with his own show. of all the current sports talk hosts, doyle is my favorite. he's on to the third joke when the caller is just getting the first. i miss that. keep him, give mo a post-lance spot.

WAY off topic. but I am glad I am not the only person that like Crystal Pepsi.

Strange isn't it, Crystal Pepsi is off the market, but Tab still exists.

Wow, if you like Doyle you really have some issues. He's horrific...honestly he knows nothing about sports, absolutely nothing about Cincinnati sports, and has a bigger on air ego than Tracy Jones, though Doyle seems serious.

I don't get the "Cincinnati radio is stuck in the 70s" remark. You go to almost any city (besides the biggies like New York and LA) and you'll get crappy local radio. The local shows on WTAM in Cleveland aren't much better or worse than local WLW shows. I have relatives in Cleveland and when I'm there I sample the radio dial as often as I can. It all sounds the same to me, except that the host is talking about the Indians instead of the Reds, or the mishaps of Mayor Jackson instead of Mayor Mallory.
