WCLZ and WCYI for sale?

it's best to not throw stuff like this around to someone who can simply go look at the 'last play' feature in scott studios.

7/14/05

when we were doing our 10 year birthday thing and playing pretty much everything we ever played .... same goes for creed and kid rock.

nobody says you have to like CYY just don't make stuff up to support your argument. like i said, anyone who knows the station and knows the format KNOWS that stuff isn't even CLOSE to being 'in rotation' in 2006.

all of that being said ... it DOES freak me out that when Modern Rock was having it's best ratings years ... creed, limp bizkit, and kid rock were all over the airwaves and somehow, someway ... people liked(???) them?

and now, off to take myself seriously. time to put afroman - "because i got high" back in heavy rotation.

side note to jeff parsons. i love how you guys still play "who let the dogs out" all the time.

Point taken. I do listen to CYY though and don't care for the suggestions that I lie to make a point. I don't listen much because of my previously mentioned points regarding the jocks. And I stick by that point. And truthfully, after this discussion, I started listening a bit more and was impressed to hear the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in the buzz bin. Obviously, it's been a long year for me (or a quick one!) and July seemed as though it was within six months.

But I don't lie to make a point. I study media for a living and I've found I'm not a very effective teacher if I make up facts. You took my personal opinion very personally-and I can understand that-I've worked full time in radio for little pay and long hours for a long time and I know how annoying it is when people criticize your hard work. But radio is an art, and as plenty of actors know, people aren't always going to like their art. Making this personal, which seems to be your goal, is unfortunate. I know how hard you work, but this is a sounding board for discussion of an art form, not a personal choping block. I certainly don't accuse you of a being a hack--and I must know something, because I knew all along you worked at CYY.

Yours,
Radio This.

as i said. i don't expect everyone to like it. but this board has a well earned reputation for people posting things as fact that simply are not. people feel like they can camp out here with complete anonymity and throw darts.

if more people showed their faces and names and didn't hide undercover the conversations here could and would be a bit more reasonable.

till that point, it will continue to be a place for people to grind axes and when it's just not accurate i'll chime in.

talking music, there's some decent stuff coming around these days. new, interesting stuff. yeah yeah yeah's included. no argument here on it being a lean last couple of years for the format. some heavy hitters with releases this year so we'll see how it goes.
