WCME

Has anyone heard how Jim Bleikamp made out with Brunswick Planning Board to get WCME back on the air in Brunswick, ME? Couldn't find anything on line in the Brunswick paper.

Thanks for that great info package, 'Radiothis'. JIBGUY and Scott Fybush report that the planning board has given approval for moving forward, so the hearing process can now start. Good news for Jim Bleikamp. Be great to have the ole 'CME back on the air!

According to allaccess Jim Bliekamp has applied for an extension of the Silent STA for WCME in BRUNSWICK while searching for a new tower site.

I'm not sure if that was intended to be a pun, but poor Jim sure has been "through the mill" alright - since WCME's "studios" are located in the old Fort Andross mill in Brunswick. Indeed, he had to turn off his first transmitter after office workers found it was flowing too freely through the mill... and their telephones!

Sorry. I really couldn't help myself. I hope this project gets off the ground. It'd be darn nifty. I'd work for free!

How funny is that? No, I didn't realize it was 'in the mill'. When I worked there (late60's), the studio and xmitter were on River Rd.

For those keeping track JIM BLEIKAMP has requested another Silent STA for WCME-A/BRUNSWICK, ME, as it awaits zoning approval for a new site.
