WCTC to Flip?

WCTC should consider an infomercial format that caters to the elderly.

Friend of mine who used to work at WCTC is saying WCTC is done, done, done.

They just got rid of their midday woman Maggie Glynn who is currently replaced by Lauren Pressley. This is just to buy themselves some time before they flip to some type of music programming.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Im not surprised considering all the bad changes they've made and not made the last 5 years.

Markerr, you pretty much nailed it.

July 2 will mark WCTC's programming change to Oldies.

Hearing that Jack Ellery will keep his 6 -10 am slot as will a doctor's program on Saturday morning and The Garden Show on Sunday morning. Sports programming will remain intact, but News/Talk on WCTC will be a memory.

Marketplaces are often brutally efficient at wringing expenses from the balance sheet to improve the bottom line.

This morning's format change happened at 10am, as scheduled. The station's general manager made a brief announcement during the last segment of Jack Ellery's morning show. Jack took a few callers who commented on the change... one of whom mentioned the jazz format on WBGO. And after the top-of-the-hour newscast, WCTC went straight into "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles without so much as a station ID or any fanfare for the long-running talk format.

The new satellite oldies format is identical to what's now airing on WMTR in Morristown. WCTC already has the schedule up on its website:
http://www.wctcam.com/schedule.aspx.

We know another station in Philly that had a similar format whose first song was also Here Comes The Sun.

Out with the old, in with the new ... no need for a funeral
for the failed format.

They should have went with a country format.

Country wouldn't be successful on that signal. You need a bigger signal to pull it off correctly.

Give it (not even sell it) to a bunch of amateurs. Or college students.
