I don't find WDBJ to be particularly folksy or non-offensive, but I do think their news department is way over-rated. It seems to me they have too many anchors (who NEVER report) and too few reporters. It is amazing to me the percentage of stories on their newscasts that are nothing but read copy--not even any pictures. WDBJ has a lot of sparkle (beautiful news set, pretty anchors) but little substance. WSLS, on the other hand, is much more aggressive in the field, but can never win with their terrible news set, and somebody really should do something with the anchors' hair. WSET is not even worth talking about--truly small market TV in a medium market and yes, all about God and country. BTW, WDBJ is not the heritage station, having come on third, several years after WSET and WSLS. And how is TV news in large market (#36) upstate SC?
