Does anyone else think they are toning down the harder stuff

107.3 had John Mellencamp as the artist that sang "I need a Lover" on the RDS.gamefreak said:Its all about trial and error. Radio stations test out different music all the time. A good example is WXGL venturing into Classic Rock. Which is change indeed considering being "Soft Rock" as 1073 The Bay. I remember a time eariler in the year when WPOI was playing "Jungle Life" by Tarzan. As well as "Puttin on the Ritz" and even " A View to a Kill" by Duran Duran. Only heard those songs last spring and not since. I uessing they didn't get good feedback with some of those songs.
I believe with WDUV being one of the Highest Rated stations in the South nothing will change too much. Cox has it down pat with WDUV. Heck Cox even released a similar "Easy Listening" station in Miami.

It would be the musical equivalent to what the talk stations are doing.
I'm not certain it is not already happening.

satellators. Programming orginates from Charlotte for BBN and Chiicago for Moody with nothing local on any of the network owned stations.

By de-listing, I assume you mean by the record companies, not the ratings services.billalm said:And Clear Channel was doing it for a while too. It caused a few stations to be de-listed from reporting status since the playlists were identical to other reporting sister stations.
There is "specialty" shows, Tom Kent, Delilah, countdowns, etc. But those are "baby sitter" shows.I don't think they're doing it now but the one in Florida that comes to mind was Z-100 Ft. Myers following the exact same playlist as 93.9 MIA in Miami. It wasn't a simulcast but the same playlist being loaded into the computer.
