I have noticed that the modulation on WDWD AM 590 Radio Disney is very low over the past several days. This is for both network content and local inserted commercials.

My daughter noted that as well. The audio wasn't coming in AT ALL last night...but she said the signal was "clean" enough to indicate that they were still transmitting at their full power. Ditto this morning when they were (I assume) back on their day signal.

They still don't even show up in ratings after moving the age down from 12+ with PPM's.
My daughter will be the first to tell you that most of the ads (what few there are; the spot load seems to be light) seem to be national buys. At that point, all that counts is presence in a market, not ratings on any individual station. Radio Disney is also on satellite and the Internet with the same national feed.Bengalsfan said:Disney isn't it it for the ratings. Radio Disney is just another promotional tool for the brand. If the station happens to make money, even better.

I don't let my daughter use the phone unsupervised.

Couldn't you have called for her?
trig said:I can assure you their sales staff there (at the local level) have local budgets not national sales budgets. And for those of you that have never dealt with a national rep firm, buying a station without ANY ratings could cost a media buyer their job, so they usually refuse to even consider you unless you have close to a 1.0 avg. rating or higher
Maybe some network syndication spots but that's about it. If your a local advertiser buying that station you really must have some money burning a hole in your pocket.
