I know it's just internal housekeeping as it were. Kerby and Donald are both older than Christine, and this involves Kerby's family getting everything in place in Pennsylvania. I don't expect them to do anything with Kentucky or Tennessee since there are 2 others involved. I'd be surprised if there isn't already a plan in place for this area, since they obviously have an active hand in daily operations here with Christine. This is not a negative comment, but I do not believe this transaction has any significance at all. It is just moving some things around. Nothing wrong with it. I'm just saying this really isn't big news. Best of luck to them all!
It looks like the WBFG modification coordinates are for a tower currently used for cellular, located about a mile from Cedar Grove.I don't think it's been mentioned here, but WBFG got a modification to move to a new tower closer to Jackson.
Lazy programming! It's interesting to me they use the same "Kool 103" jingles on WDXI AM and 103.5 FM that are used on their other oldies FM at 103.1, which is "Kool 103" and programmed separately.
This would almost make sense if these two stations cross-referenced each other, as in "you can hear this other program over on our sister station," but since they both use the same name, it might still be confusing for listeners.1310/103.5 Leans more toward 60's and early 70's oldies while 103.1 leans toward 70's and 80's oldies. But it looks like it would at least make sense to have a different name for each.
Probably more like cheap programming. Gerald had to save money somewhere. I mean, all those junk cars in the parking lots in Jackson and Savannah didn't come cheap.Lazy programming!
Yep, same difference.Probably more like cheap programming.
Probably trying to play a single-channel from stereo over BOTH channels, if that makes any sense. Many of the early Beatles songs were in fake stereo, with vocals in one channel, and instrumentation in the other. Probably great if you sing karaoke, but not so great for everyone else. I have heard such "stereo" myself, lately.some song lyrics were missing from the FM that were fine on the AM. I was switching back and forth in the car as I was out and about on a Sunday afternoon.
I wonder if an STL antenna may have been damaged by the weather.I don't know what's happening but 103.1 has been off since at least Christmas Eve. But 1310 and 103.5 are still on.
I noticed the same thing. It looks like 103.5 is on the 103.1 tower, which is south of Jackson.I don't know what's happening but 103.1 has been off since at least Christmas Eve. But 1310 and 103.5 are still on.
If it were just a programming issue, I would suggest that they simulcast 103.5 over 103.1. I usually try to tune in 103.1 while going from here to Memphis and back again. I was not aware of 103.5 at the time. Might not have been on the air yet, or had too weak of a signal for me to pick it up.I wonder if an STL antenna may have been damaged by the weather.
103.1 is back on today. I also think it would be better to simulcast 103.5 with 103.1 because there's not a lot of difference in them anyway other than 103.5 leans more toward the 60s while 103.1 leans towards 70s and 80s.
Radio Locator shows 103.1 as being classic hits, while 103.5 is listed as oldies.103.1 is back on today. I also think it would be better to simulcast 103.5 with 103.1 because there's not a lot of difference in them anyway other than 103.5 leans more toward the 60s while 103.1 leans towards 70s and 80s.
103.1 is the stronger signal of the two, and it is the one that has been off the air. Why? Theyre on the same tower.. you gain nothing by doing that
