We Own It, 98.7

It's good to see that there's a place where people still aren't easily offended. It's also good to know that I can drink heavily and still keep a post at two sentences or less.

Some major things to say here. The best place for the WOKI talk format to be placed on was 990's signal on AM. That would be better coverage in practice. Another thing would be that 107.7 will remain C-O-U-N-T-R-Y for the foreseeable future if saner hands prevail. That station is Citadel Knoxville's cash cow. You have over 44 years of heritage there. Talk should remain an AM format unless a city lacks a decent signal to put it on. A la Chattanooga. I think in the end, Rush Limbaugh and HHH will jump ship the moment both can and go over to WNOX at 100.3.

I see the BIG announcement now... talk moves up as "SuperMegaPowerNewsTalk 107.7" and country moseys down to "98.7 The Tadpole" ;D
When that happens stock up on perishables and dig your shelter, making sure to use concrete block, and then have someone outside to put several feet of drt on the top. Yes, that person will have to build his own shelter, and someone will have to put dirt on the top of it ...

Sounds right to me.

How do the trends look on 98.7 now that you own it?

They'll probably look better when Mike Hammond puts in traffic lights near their cluttered billboards. A good long red light will give people enough time to read 'em.
