Wee for Wii trial finally begins for Entercom

AllAccess has been posting daily articles.

We did a water stunt in Alaska. The difference was our listeners drank little micro dixie cups of water spread out over the hours of the event.

In my opinion, they made three mistakes. First, drinking massive amounts of water in such a short period of time. Second, not having medical personnel available. And of course third, saying stupid stuff on the air about the possibility of someone getting hurt...
 
Lawyer asks for 24-25 million for the family.Only bad thing is the Lawyers will get 12 million or more.

I think both the station and Corp are responsible.Just don't like Lawyers asking that much,knowing they will get their LARGE cut.1-2 million tops for the Lawyers here.
 
Entercom claimed in closing they weren't responsible for Ms. Stranges death. Wasn't it their contest? Didn't they hold it on premises? Was there no knowledge of water intoxication by those employees despite it having been mentioned on air by them during the contest? If they weren't responsible, why did they fire all of the employees involved? Were those employees not direct representatives of Entercom? Weren't those employees placed in a position of control of the station license by sitting at the main operators position?

The award will be large. Very large.
 
And the reward should be large. Entercom held the contest, controlled the contest, encouraged the actions, ignored the callers who raised concerns, and then fired the employees--an act that translates to "you screwed up."

Entercom's assertion of "we did nothing wrong" really angers me. They always want the fruits of their labor, so they can accept the liability as well.

It sure sounds as if the jury has moved past liability and is working on damages.

I was just talking with a lawyer buddy of mine. We both agree that having a jury ask for a 10-digit calculator is very, very bad if you're the Defendant. Wow.

That they're taking so much time in returning is also not good for the defense. I'd bet there's some serious "I'd like to settle now please" stuff going on in the background.

The family hopefully is not listening.I know I would not be.I know some might say this is about the money but it really is also about taking responsibility.Something all "BIG" companies need to learn.
