BobLobel said:I agree on the pillar of arrogance part at EEI, but isn't it always smart not to mention the competition? I can remember the times I wanted but never mentioned "go watch Channel 5 and Mike Lynch" but always held it in.
Also former EEI turned Sportshubbers have sent out flashboy Mark Bertrain as the sacrificial lamb. Supposedly, he called Heslam and was out to make a name. Kinda of stupid story if you ask me, I still would like to know what the Sports Hub gains or EEI loses out of this. It must be a slow week.
Bob, [I'm assuming that you are actually Bob Lobel]
Your post was called to my attention by colleages and I feel it is necessary to respond due to its defamatory and libelous nature. Your statement that I called the Boston Herald or tried to attach my name to this situation is utterly false.
This suggestion does not even make sense. The fact that Damon Amendolara revealed the information on the air about 24 hours before a story was ever written should be enough evidence that nobody called the newspaper. On Friday morning, Toucher and Rich discussed the topic throughout their show and even talked about it when they crossed into the Tanguay and Zolak show.
This very thread was started at 11:13 AM on Friday with links to the audio of all of these shows discussing it. Wouldn't this be the reason the story ended up in the Herald? What would I even have to gain by making such a phone call?
I have never bore any ill will towards WEEI or Andy Massaua. Furthermore, I have never spoken to Jessica Heslam.
I'm smart enough to know that making a name for yourself comes from doing a job well, and not spreading gossip to a newspaper. Considering your experience in 2005 with a case of libel, you should be smart enough not to spread irresponsible rumors on an industry message board.
