WEEI sis station to debut Oct 26

by the way the site of Westfield's WNNZ 640 (sports talk) says they run Fox Sports. If WVEI-FM is simulcasting WEEI, does that mean Fox Sports Radio moves there too or will 105.5 have to run ESPN or Sporting News?

"This site is under construction and coming soon"

Springfield Republican article:
http://www.masslive.com/search/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1161850560281790.xml?sjsp

(That article says WEEI is the Sox flagship but it's really 'RKO... It also says during the 8 or 9 times when
Sox and Celts have a conflict, WVEI-FM will run Sox and they'll try to find a place to put Celts game on.
It confirms that WHYN is out as a Sox affiliate though Northampton's WHMP 1600 is trying to stay on...)

That stinks. WTIC doesn't carry weekday day games -- gotta carry Limbaugh live, you know -- and WHYN, which does, is the only other Sox network station that we can receive during daylight hours here in Meriden, Conn. I wonder if 'TIC's nights-and-weekends-only policy will change next season?

Not sure if WTIC's policy will change or not. Most of the day games are in April, or "getaway days"...
Ask WEEI about this--maybe they can get WMMW 1470 to run these games (though WTIC might not
be pleased with the competition moving in on their Sox broadcasts...)

The radio-locator.com map predicting coverage for WEEI-FM 103.7 Westerly RI puts Meriden right at the very edge of
the fringe. Maybe with a good antenna...?

Since EEI gets better ratings than FAN, I'm sure you're wrong.

DO they? They may have triple the share percentage, but in New York City, their lower share equates to more listeners. And even then, WFAN's signal goes a LONG distance and makes the books in several other markets in southeastern New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and east Pennsylvania. Heck, people are listening in Springfield, MA, but maybe now that one will change. I'm far faaaaar away from New York, but we can get WFAN at night, and one of my older friends listens to the Mets games on WFAN at night. But I can't imagine there being much of another reason that Entercom is buying up stations outside of the Boston market so they can turn WEEI into a New England-wide radio network.

>>they can turn WEEI into a New England-wide radio network.

Indeed they are--Jason Wolfe has said they hope to do the same in NH and ME (and presumably VT too).
From the Globe in July: "Now Wolfe is eyeing New Hampshire and Maine. ``It's not imminent," he says. ``But that would be the next obvious arrangement if one [station] was available.""

I can get it in my car, but my home receivers are overloaded with West Peak hash and can't pull 103.7 out from under 104.1. But then, if I'm home during the day, I'll just watch the game on NESN. ... (slaps forehead) Oh wait, I forgot, I've got XM! Forget my complaint completely!
