Why do you think The Edge (with is third-rate signal on 104.9) let the Cat out of the bag anyway? The also-lousy 96.3 won't get The Edge, either.

Just to clarify regarding WGNA's CMA and ACM award nominations, each entrant (station or personality) submits an aircheck and a written description of promotions and/or public service events in which they've been involved during the eligibility time period. There is a fee which all entrants pay but those dollars just go towards keeping the association operating. A small, anonymous of group committee members determine the winners for each category. WIVK, Memphis usually wins the medium market category in which WGNA participates because they've consistently have huge audience shares and they are considered to be a leader within the Country radio industry. For a while, WGNA was the only Northeast station nominated for the medium market category which helped open the door for other Northeast Country stations to be recognized.

I don't remember who posted the comment but I got the sense that s/he was dismissing one of these nominations as having no value because a station or a personality that's doing their job well doesn't need the
acknowledgment. That's true up to a point but, given the dismissive attitude that Nashville had towards Country
radio in the Northeast until relatively recently, it's still nice to have one's efforts validated by their peers.

Mulrooney in the Morning was one of the best morning shows around, and to tune in to some country B.S.during Gazers show was very disappointing. I also thought it was some kind of joke at first, after day one not really funny any more, day 2 was a bit overkill, day 3 i said screw it. Come to find out they just did away with the edge? Out of all stations?! 103.1 is no thrill to listen to, like said zombie prerecorded boring B.S. 103.5/103.9 is almost the same boring talk shitty music 98% of the time. 96.3, although not rock, is a joke honestly, 10 song playlists really ruins a CD when it comes out.

The Edge was the only rock worth listnening to on the air in the capitol district. The variety and Metallica Mondays will really be missed, screw what the other stations try to do with it. Now were stuck to satelitte and CD's,MP3's.

It was the only station promoting the capitol district bands that dont get credit on the other shitty stations. Now where do we go from here? What about the fans who helped out this past Christmas due to an unfortunate incedent? How many stations have that kind of loyalty/generosity? I just think it was a really bad move and pissed off alot of people. Good luck with the cat (reeow) ya basterds!

I might be a little late with this post but damnit i cant take the other stations anymore. Best of luck to the EDGE D.J.'s You will be missed until you come back!

The edge was probably the only good rock station in the area.
But the edge was the only bad-signaled rock station in the area. Anything on 104.9 sucks!
