Merlin Media has issued a press release describing WWWN, their new station in Chicago. Below is a link to it. Perhaps it is an indication of what will air on WEMP 101.9 in New York.
Though the press release describes it as an all news station, there will apparently be many lifestyle type features. From the press release: (The station's listeners) " Will experience credible news, jargon-free traffic reports, and accurate weather. Listeners will engage with information from leading experts on subjects such as health, family, career, money, entertainment, beauty and more."
This seems consistent with the rumors of a female oriented news and information station.
Are they're going to do the same for 101.9 starting tomorrow morning? If it does, maybe someone will be posting an aircheck of the relaunch of "FM News 101.9".
The station was still running the "101.9 FM New" music format today, with the bi-hourly newscasts and frequent traffic/weather reports. Oh, and lots of chocolate.
