WEST MICHIGAN AM BCB LOGS

Heard a new one on 690 this morning - KRGS (ESPN) from Rifle, Colorado at 1200 UTC TOH with a faint ID during a pause by a dominant FOX Sports station that didn't ID itself (KFXN or WJOX). Also mixing with KTSM & XEME - the usual occupiers of 690 here.

700 KALL Utah was also in there strong and causing problems for WLW.

680 KNBR was there too but weaker than usual. No KFI this morning.

Very nice log kilokat! Try for CBU...
700 KALL has never been heard, but I've been trying for years. KIRO seems to destroy 700 here.

Thanks crainbebo, I've tried and tried for CBU for years without any luck.

Overnight SDR catch:

1710 KHz Dr. Benway & Undercover Radio (pirate) testing with live IDs and classic rock first noticed at 0521 UTC, mostly readable but taking turns with co-channel 24/7 ethnic pirate Radio Celestial (Bronx) and the New Jersey TIS station.

Miami fading in and out right now at 0457 utc "Radio Mambi" on 710 - rare here. Cuba also heard in the mix on 710.

Is WAQI (R Mambi) toying with their pattern? There have been reports, like yours, from places where WAQI ain't supposed to go! And, if it is more common than I expect, well, how is WOR (and of course CJRN) taking all of this, with the Rebeldes pounding them too? <shrug>

cd

CD, damn hard for a station to toy with it's pattern. Once tuned up, a pattern want's to stay in its proper place (because of the fixed components in the system). But a component failure can upset the apple cart.

You can take KFXN off the Fox Sports list-they flipped more than a year ago to World Ethnic, mostly Hmong programming.

But most of the coils in a phaser are adjustable and the pattern can be significantly altered by retuning them.

KFIA from California just heard on 710 at 0400 UTC with an ad for the Pacific Bible College, ID by a local pastor and then into SRN News. Must be running day pattern or conditions are exceptional tonight!! California #11

Yikes!!

BTW @ crainbebo, I was looking at posts on this page. On AM 700 I wouldn't look past maybe KBYR in Anchorage, if you are able to get a null in the NW. Long shot, sure, but 10 k (ND, right?)....ya never know.

cd

I'm looking all I can for KFQD 750. Best target. Then KENI, KBYR, KINY 800...
