Had a chance to listen this morning to WEUS, "The Big 810" between appointments this morning. If you are expecting something negative from me, I won't disappoint you. However, I am only using them as an example. What I'm saying can be applied to many but if you are with WEUS and a decision maker, then maybe you can make use of this.
Two words..."QUALITY CONTROL". No matter how bad things are in the business climate, there are things which can be done to improve sound and execution. I was listening during what I thought was a live, local, call-in talkshow. If this was LIVE and LOCAL...why not say that repeatedly, guys? The host was somebody calling himself a "loose cannon". He was doing the typical Rush Limbaugh wanna be "blame Obama for everything approach" but never once heard a call-in number! Not once! There was some "over enunciating" girl, who sounded like she might have been on a break from ninth grade doing the news. I thought I heard the same recorded traffic report more than once. Now this might be a bit technical for some of you who went to college to get into broadcasting...microphones are connected to some type of mixer. The mixer contains level controls. The idea is to have the audio from the various sources match each other in "loudness". One time the girl was much lower than this so-called loose cannon. The next time she was perfect and then another time, way low.
You can improve your product, 810. Why not at least try???
