WFAS-FM BRONXVILLE NY Sold

So....If I were to tune my analog GE Superadio to 1230-WFAS AM....What would I actually hear??? Just curious....No all digital AM stations where I am located...

The sale to VCY America has closed. Earlier this afternoon WFAS FM 103.9 switched from conservative talk to religious programming provided by VCY. The new callsign is WVBN FM.
WFAS AM 1230 is still running the conservative talk that had been simulcast on 103.9 FM. And they are continuing to use a digital signal, which can only be received on an HD Radio.

Actually, the call sign is just WVBN (with no FM suffix). I just heard the station ID.

The call sign was previously held by a now-defunct FM station in Lewis County, NY between 1948 and 1951.

And as I write this, 103.9 is silent. Carrier is on but no programming.

One would think VCY would have been ready to go on Feb. 6 but if there's issues getting the programming over to the tower in the Bronx, that doesn't make for a smashing debut.

That is surprising. When I listened to WVBN last night, I heard traditional Christian music and a teaching program from Equipping the Saints. The station did seem to be ready at the time.

The station's Wikipedia page has been updated to reflect the change.

I think noncommercial station operators often don't feel the same urgency to return to the air as commercial ones do. WNYU, WBAI and WYMK (Family Radio) are often broadcasting open carrier for awhile.

WVBN is back on the air. It is now airing programming from VCY America. Interestingly, the transmission on the FM station is nine seconds behind the VCY America live stream.

That sounds like they're feeding the transmitter using the stream and a Barix or similar unit, with a long buffer set up to prevent too many unnecessary audio drop-outs.
