At Midnight, they went straight into 'Zooropa' by U2, no imaging, no anything. Would a song like this really fit a Variety Hits format? Or are they still stunting here?

They must be stunting, because now they're playing another U2 song from the same album. Is it possible Clear Channel has no earthly clue what they are going to put on the frequency, as crazy as that sounds?

Am pretty sure that the signal w/ CC control would emanate from Cabot Rd in Medford and at one point the Exchange St. Lynn studios the Phoenix has will pull the plug. (And I'd think they won't renew lease. Heck they can do the webstream from their Boston office, why pay for the Lynn one)

They down to W as of 1:28 AM - last on air ID was WFNX Lynn-Boston but it sounded like a tech saying it to keep it legal.
I've never heard Ryan Adam's haunting version of "Wonderwall" on WFNX until this moment.

Definitely someone improvising the WFNX ID a moment ago. Plus, the music is not really typical WFNX music; too grunge-heavy, a little downbeat, and not enough eccentric WFNX hits. Seems very 90s-centric; more like Radio 92.9.
