WGZR tweaking

Although the station is technically a SC station, its focus is on a Georgia market. Hope someone saves some memorabilia they can share with our organization.

The fact that Triad didn't ditch Country altogether makes it seem that they're committed to the format. I don't know enough about the format/stations to say if there have been any other major changes aside from the branding, but I wonder if this will really be enough to make a dent in Kix 96's dominance. Guess we'll see.

As far as the Lucky Dog moniker, I'm not a fan... and yeah Savannah hates the Gators (and so do I, I'm a huge UGA fan), but do you think listeners were tuning out purely for the reason? Who knows.

Be interesting to see how this plays out.

Are there any other changes you think we might see to Savannah radio in the coming months, TheMusicMan?

I mentioned on the 'WGCO' thread how I think Triad should bring back AAA. They could resurrect the format for this market, rec-acquire the WWVV callsign, and WLOW could become WWVV-FM - Wave 107.9. I think with a much larger signal and with a large marketing presence (not just billboards and print; I'm talking TV commercials, alot of remotes, sponsoring local events, etc.) the AAA format could do fairly well and certainly alot better than it did on 104.9. I miss having the format here. People tell me, "Listen to Q105.3." I do and while it's a great station, it's not the same thing.

I agree...Q-1053 is a decent station...if you are more classic rocked inclined. And maybe something will occur with WLOW...I have a feeling they can't duplicate the format this much.

Anyway, I need to drag my tail to bed. Need to be up in 3.5 hours for my cab to the train station. St. Patty's was a blast again this year...and didn't pay a dime for any of my booze! (More on that some other day)

I sincerely hope Triad realizes just how much WLOW, in its current incarnation, is going to cannibalize both Oldies 98.3 AND 103.1 The Drive (which no one's listening to anyway).

There isn't anything that comes to mind immediately. I guess with the developments at WGCO, maybe The Coast will change? The Drive?

I don't know what Triad will do with 107.9, but I think a flip is certainly within the realm of possibility. I wouldn't argue if they brought the Triple A back, but I don't know if I see it happening. I wrote a little about some of the formats I could see at 107.9 in the Jack-to-Oldies thread, but I'm thinking either back to Standards, Mainstream or Modern AC could work. Is there enough of a market for a Spanish here?
