Well, I hope that your Spanish is pretty good because you'll need it in either place. People have these ideas about moving to these so-called paradises only to find that they have some of the highest crime rates and social problems in the USA. Unless you are rich enough to live in some walled-in enclave, you will be unpleasantly surprised. The snow does a good job of keeping a lot of riff-raff out!
Speaking of TV news, check out some of the professionally done newscases in Phoenix, Orlando or Miami. You'll see a whole lot more stories about random violence than ever thought of (outside the inner city) in Pennsylvania. Just to bring this back to TV....
