No repeat workdays usually sound great for a couple weeks till you burn everyone out on the old gold/recurrents.
Typically this is a stunt done to give a new crop of office workers the impression that your station is positioned as the best 'at-work' station. The good news is that it rarely lasts, they'll go back to 'normal' after a while.
The price the station always pays is sounding far too 'old' for casual listeners checking out the station. Also, it's impossible to work in a current correctly when you can't play a song closer than 9 hours apart. Heck we struggle with familiarity on our 7 hour category at The Dance Station, that one is bad enough, 9 is a killer.
Never the less, anything they believe will help their station, and the format at large by proxy, I'm behind.
