What Blown Up Station Do You Miss Most?

"Wonderful WINO, in western WALLA-WALLA!" (heavy on the echo)....

indianapolis radio

the original WNAP.

bruce quinn`s WKLU

What really hurt WCPO - 1230-AM - was their signal especially at night. The station's sound quality was really good if you were close enough to hear it well. The same programming was simualcast on FM at 105.1 and could be heard a long way.

WUBE 123 WB Especially when Drake was programming for them 66-70. A great station with wonderful jocks, but a terrible signal that killed them

Drake consulted them from October '67 thru 1968... They went country on April Fool's Day, 1969... Unfortunately it was NOT a joke!

Thanks for the clarification. I was out of town for that period and didn't know for sure when they changed the format

WLVV I believe it was before it became WVAE. And they called it Love 94 from Love's Park. (94.9)
WLWS (Which through it's myriad of call signs ranging from WBVE - Beaver 96 1/2 to WFTK - Supertalk 96.5)
WAZU (Dayton/Springfield) billed as the Big Wazu (102.9)
WBLY (Springfield) and Smilin' Bob whose Heart Attack fund got Clark County Paramedics their first Lifepak's in the 70's (1600)
WJZA/WJZK 103.5/104.3 Columbus and Fritz the Night Owl playing smooth Jazz.
