What do you guys think of Mancow

I haven't been able to listen for more than five minutes. I find him super hyped an super irritating, but then I don't like morning shows that much anyway, so for what it is worth.

I have had a hard time believing that he is the legitimate successor to Stearn, at least in LA. I just don't see people tuning in in droves to an AM sports station to hear his show. That might work in some cities back east, but AM is just not LA.

I've listened to him before when visiting Chicago. Didn't like him.

What? Don't tell that to anyone at KFI - which has flirted with being the #1 station 12+ in Los Angeles recently.

I listen to AM more than FM.

As for Mancow, I think the question is would you pick him over David Lee Roth, Stern's likely replacement. Having heard that audition, the answer is yes.

And this is all likely to come down in less than 2 months so pick your Stern listening replacement NOW.

Did you say a man-cow?

Frankly, breeding a cow and a man is disgusting.

What is this country coming to?

I enjoy his show!! don't know why, I do think it does a diservice having it on A.M., it's a nightday diffrence, it's got alot of sound and clarity that I think is geared at F.M., ive listened to him on both, and it's a pretty big difference!!

KFI is talk and news station which serves a mostly different audience than those that would want to listen to a shock-jock morning show.

A good example of my original point is Imus, who gets some very good ratings back east, but didn't even register a blip when he was on AM in LA.

Problem for Mancow is that on FM, he can't penetrate the wall of women formats CC has on their FM properties. There is a very good chance he generate numbers for himself and help on Star, but that would fly in the face of the female audience the station is geared to, so that option is unlikely. At least Mancow has a show, I have no idea what that is in the mornings at Star right now.

I've listened to Star's "new" morning show and I'm not sure what it is either.

That show has had its ups and downs, but -- to my ear, at least -- Jamie comes off as a shrill, bitter person quite a lot of the time. I can't say that I miss Danny Bonaduce, as he seemed to be the best of the bunch that have been thrown against her (and the best at holding his own), but I just haven't liked Star's morning show all that much since she got there.

Simply put, the woman grates on my nerves far more often than she says something that makes me smile.

Of course, since I rarely listen to Star in the morning, I also don't listen all that much in other dayparts. In fact, I haven't listened to them on a regular basis since Leah Brandon was the host of "Totally 80s" on Friday nights. How long ago was that? 1997? 1998?

KFI is an in-your-face talk and news station. It is not designed to be a traditional conservative talk station. Very unique among talk stations nationwide. It shares more in content with KLSX than you might think.

Don Imus is not a shock jock or at least no more than John and Ken at KFI are. His morning show on MSNBC, not a shock news network, proves that. And his show is on a sports station in New York City yet it isn't a sports show. His brief stay on Los Angeles radio couldn't be heard in most areas due to poor signal and next to no promotion. That isn't a good example.

I'm not sure if I follow your writing here. But since KLAC and Mancow's show are more male oriented it makes perfect sense to have him on KLAC.
John London got decent numbers at KNBR in San Francisco on a sports station (and Imus at Sports WFAN in New York does now). So why can't Mancow? Mancow's show is a plus in rebuilding the image of that station with its recent move from 690/1150 along with Phil Hendrie, another non-sports show. Clear Channel has a huge outdoor marketing campaign for him up now. Lets see if it pays off after Stern is taken off KLSX most likely around Labor Day weekend. I think they will garner some of Stern's former audience.

Personally, I don't think much of Mancow. I don't understand why Fox News Channel uses him (as a live daily cut-in) on their "Fox and Friends" morning show either. Regardless, if any of you heard the David Lee Roth auditions, wow, Mancow is a pro...
