..don't you think that share is likely to improve, regardless of how much advertising CBS does? And don't you think that, if Amp eventually does unveil a full local DJ lineup, the advertising, concert branding and other promotional activity is sure to follow?
I don't think teens will "tell their friends" because they're much more dialed into YouTube than radio. Likely that 3 share is 20 & 30 somethings (guessing, i can't see the breakouts). But if CBS was really committed to supporting AMP they would have launched with a much bigger splash, like CC just did in Atlanta. Commercial Free Summer, TV spots, etc.
CC has better CHR resources, runs them better and with lower expenses than CBS. I'm doubtful CBS will ever muster the resources they would need to challenge CC in Boston, the cost would be in the millions. For now 103.3's format change has yielded a net loss of listeners.
As far as Loveline goes: I'm with iyiyi, a talk show does not belong on a rock station at night. When your audience is done with a hard day's work, drinking its beer, smoking its weed and looking for tunes, that's the time to win their loyalty by giving 'em the rock they need when they need it most.
