What does 1200 do now? Talk gone

To pass along a couple opinions from Mark of Boston Radio Watch:
--98.5 will probably stay with JT rather than CBS forcing it to run Sports Babe
--Prog talk on 1200 is about as likely as Menino eating at Chik Fil A

Though who knows even if 98.5 keeps JT Premiere/CC could run Fox Sports 24/7 on 1200 thus leading to
"not another sports talker in town!" remarks. We know 850 goes to ESPN, it's said...

If CC wanted FSR, they could take it from 98.5, just like they took Rush from WRKO...and allowed him to go back. I'm sure 98.5 would rather run JT than the Sports Babe, but they may not have a choice. That decision could be made by corporate, not by CBS/Boston. There will not be a lot of CBS Radio Sports programming running on the Sports Hub anyway since they are live and local most of the time, so they may have to go with the network just to get the clearance.

My guess is that WBZ-98.5 ("The Sports Hub") will replace any Fox Sports Radio programming it runs with CBS Sports Radio programming once that network launches (I can even see one or two current "Sports Hub" shows either be replaced by national programming or one current local "Sports Hub" show go national).

Once CBSSR launches, Clear Channel will flip WXKS-1200 to 24/7 FSR, possibly with the addition of local college sports from independent packagers who'll buy the airtime.

Let's see to it that a good man and talented host in Jeff Katz is hired by WRKO. Entercom has clearly indicated it is giving one last go at being the premier talk radio station in town, so my advice is to bring in a world-class steward of the airwaves in Mr. Katz. Some of you are laughing, I don't care. Talk 1200 was a good little station on a terrible signal, and Clear Channel did next to nothing to promote it. It was designed for failure when it didn't have to be one. Talk 101.7 would have been a much better use of that frequency than the junk airing there now, especially with the election just months away and it being of the utmost importance we get this bozo out of the White House. Raccoon and the rest of the conservatives frequenting this board, I expect to see you will be attending - click the following link: https://www.facebook.com/events/435470296491457/435568959814924/?notif_t=plan_mall_activity

I knew that was coming. Why on EARTH would Clear Channel use a Cumulus network?

I think the best thing for AM 1200 is for a pirate to sign on with 750, 000 watts on the same
frequency. Call it Jammin' 1200

:p

To be fair, why would Cumulus put their stations on CC's iHeartRadio? Why would Premiere move Rush off a CC station onto an Entercom station? It's all about money, ownership be damned.

That being said, if I never hear the phrase "The Touch" again, it'll be too soon.

Andy Dean in morning drive? Seriously? Let the vomiting begin! Worst convervative talk show host ever, but also the best 9-year-old talk show host ever.
;D

There is no way CC is keeping talk on 1200 if they are airing Andy Dean in morning drive right now. They could pick up Imus for mornings, and Dave Ramsey/Dennis Miller/someone else to replace Rush, but I'm just not seeing it. Maybe Hannity to 7-10 on WTKK?

Tend to agree that FOX Sports is coming to 1200, no matter how much of a waste the signal will be. FSR is going to need major market affiliates clearing the whole lineup once CBS Sports Radio is launched. But has this all been thought out by CC's national team already? I question that.

FSR has one superstar in JT Brick but he is on overnights which won't help.

I would not be shocked if 1200 went with 'True Oldies' or a CC variation of it. I guarantee going there would generate more presets than all-sports.

All you need to do to figure out possible formats for 1200 is to browse Cheap Channel's" I- Heart Radio"--that's what they will do. You dont really think "Mia 1430" is local do you?

My guess--Scott Shannon's True Oldies station. Plug and play for cheap channel-no heavy lifting required.

ok ok, no "Touch"
It'd be great if they put "Mia" on both 1430am and 1200am. What will be even better is get rid of "The Harbor 101.7", and put "Mia" on both 101.7 and 1430am

Like many of you are guessing "Fox Sports Radio" would be ok on there
