what does a jock in Atlanta make.

Omega ---

Didn't you here...sixteen of us posters on this boards just bawt Liberman Broadcasting and will be you boss in Dallas starting
on the second Tuesdays of the first month of January of the years 2007.

We voted to call ourselve Alpha 1 Communications. Do you likke?

(Biblically speaking ---The Beginning meets the End)

PS - this is intended to be in jest, humor. It goes with the flow of the overall posp. Seriously, welcome to the Big D. Where were
you before? The overall Liberman ratings confirm you actually will in market 5, but as their three stations there rank respectively
so bad, that you actually drop down to the adjusted "weighted" listening audience of market 245 (Peru, IL, really a blind choice...)

I come in here with no intencion of offending anyone and all you guys do is talk ------! I will be working for Liberman Broadcasting's new stations and i will not doubt be making more money then alot of you guys that hide behind a nick name and pretend you know it all! I im not a rookie just unaware of how things flow in Atlanta!

LBI is the largest privately held, Spanish-language broadcaster in the United States based on revenues. Looks like Yogi and Panda dodged a bullet, there ;)

Sorry guys but even if i do type fast and misspell alot of words i do have to add that im currently the number 1 rated dj in my current market in the top 100 in every demo!

So you're #1 with teens, their parents, and their grandparents too? Persons as well as Male and Female? Wow, how could your legitimacy ever be questioned, O Radio God? ::)

Radio God? Nope that title is copyrighted by PaulBWalkerJr, who lets all of us on the Boston Board know it on a regular basis. Look at the graphic on the top of this page.....

Well on the first monday of 2007 we will have to go over to the Dallas boards and seee how Omega was received.

Geez, dude, relax. I was asking a simple question. I am not sure how that translates to "knowing it all." So you're not gonna let us know what your offer is?

Hey Omega aside form the fact that Liberman broadcasting is not exactly a household name so to suggest that you would be making more money than many folks in Atlanta working for a no name company?..well, that's pretty retarded. For your sake I hope you are correct and you are making a huge check because Dallas, is a crappy market. A crappy place to live, and there is so little good radio there,.....Do you ever hear anything about any Dallas stations?......nope............. bad radio, bad market, bad area of the country, good luck!.

wow beef.i am sorry that my missing 96 rock makes you mad.so sorry for that.but that doesnt mean that you have to make some racist comments about southerners.yes i like billy squier but your drawn out stereotypical "drawl" is as fake as hollywood in reality.look go back to listening to whatever you listen to and we stupid rednecks will stop bothering you with our stupid complaining.i mean todays "rock" is so much better with all the whinning and blathering lyrics from pre packaged idol rejects so who needs the stones or humble pie or iron maiden? your so right so we ll go crawl in a hole now and keep quiet for your sake.

[EDIT]
[EDIT=vulgarity.]

I have to say that this is one of the funnier threads I have read recently on this board. From Omega's attempts to convince us that he is a real jock (Market 5! Market 5!), to the massive groundswell of sarcasm directed at him. Great stuff. Thanks for the entertainment!

Match your numbers to mine and then feel free to talk crap! I will take anyone of you wanna be radio gods any day of the week!

im sure their is a reason to why you are a EX WKLS! Anyways you guys can continue to share your poison at the end of the day im employed at a higher market and have a bigger proven track record!

I'm still taking credit though for being the first one to call him out......

By the way - didn't you start a different thread a short time ago that stated you already received an offer? If that is the case, wouldn't you have already done the legwork to understand the market (including salary expectations), and gone through the 'interview' process?

Me thinks this may be a fishing expedition.

I have a job offer to work in radio in Atlanta and im, comming from a smaller market i'm wondering what are the pros and cons of radio in atlanta?

Dude, I'm on your side!

I'm sure Dallas will be a wonderful market for you. Someone who can get great numbers in all demos should be working in market 5. Not here in puny little market 10.

You're right- there is a reason I am "Ex." I got out of radio in 1995, before it turned into the ugly business that it is now, as is well evidenced on this board, sometimes! I left radio to teach high school, and enjoy my life a lot more now that I don't judge my success by numbers spit out of a computer every few months.

I am more than happy to turn over my former title of RADIO GOD to the only true RADIO GOD... MIGHTY OMEGA OF MARKET 5!

Omega is going to be working for one of the three lowest rated FM stations in Purgatory.
Well, I wouldn't call Dallas that, really. I enjoyed my raydio ride there, years ago.
I wouldn't brag about it yet, Omega. You reap what you sow. The moral of the story, 75%
of what your heading for leads to a quick massive market size drop at a major reduced income
regardless of how great you are as a payback for your initial bad decision to look at market
size verses within the market station/owner pedigree, etc. Doubt it will change your plans,
I didn't listen and it was the third best rated station, which made all the difference. But, being
in a Top 10 market doesn't allow for mistakes or false attitude. Not trying to beat you up.
You're going to feel like it's market 235, if you are not anywhere near the driver's seat.

I think, despite the batting around of Omega-the radio Dios, this has been interesting. There was a really good conversation about salary on one of the small TN market boards here.

I'll admit right off that I'm in a whopping big top 200 market, and closer to 200 than 100. That said, I'm the lowest rung in the news department (a news department in a small market, they actually exist), and I make 40k a year. I just moved to this station from a supervisory capacity at a news talk in a top 10 market, and this was at a dominant network O&O. I made $40k. With real estate at half the price, it's easy to see why I made this move.

Maybe it's because we're an independently owned station and the owners (same family since 1923) haven't been told yet that they're supposed to pay us in hay bales and defunct currency, but I've been amazed at the stories I've heard. In fact, at the network O&O, we hired a night guy for our hot AC who came from the Big D, and made $25k doing nights there. The pay scale in Atlanta is mind boggling to me. But I was also amazed that the PD at my last job could only afford a studio apartment.

There's only so little you can make until smaller markets make more sense because of the cost of living.

This thread is too funny. I will keep my comments to myself lest I offend any radio gods causing them to come to cyber land and smite me.
