What Have We Learned?

The STL situation has taught us one thing:

If you work in radio, have the delay on!

Anyone working now should just accept the delay as part of the gig. I let something slip once at a station, and seeing "no delay" was crushing.

If he'd just have let it go...he might still be employed, but he brought SO much attention to the gaffe, that something had to be done.

Firing him was an overreaction. Suspension for a few days with an apology was more than fair.

but then you have to aircheck off of PROGRAM and not AIR. id rather risk it ;)

kidding.

We've learned that The PC Police are like the FCC and the FDA. Invented entities that have grown into a monster WAY BEYOND what they were initially intended to do. That and they are so busy looking into everything because they need to justify thier paychecks.

Why does Nik get credit for my posts?? I assure you im AM NOT Nik Carter!
but,I AM somebody you burned in this businuss. see, you have started so much crap with people here (and in the real world) that you have no idea who i am! I've even given you hints as to who i am!! and i'll never tell you who I am because i don't want 60 daily emails about how bad i am and how good you are.
plus, i find it more fun that you don't know anyway!

I think the point of people on this forum is that you are welcome to post and join discussion but everything put out is an attack or bragging about yourself.
then you have to attact Nik,edopius, paul, wbcn ect. ect. ect. if they sucked then i could understand but your attacking them for WORKING! be it weekends or in a "RED STATE"! come on look at yourself! REALLY, don't you find it odd that EVERYONE diagrees with you! just stop attacking people who arn't up to your "standards" of radio employment. there are alot of people here that aren't doing what they want or were let go from a station (that happens a lot in radio).

do you think you are winning them over by attacking them and calling them losers because they don't work at your "level"?

P.S i'm, not Nik!

I'm not sure who these PC Police are supposed to be, exactly, but I do think it proves that we've gotten to a point as a society where the worst thing someone can possibly be is "offended." Never mind that he apologized immediately - someone might think the station is racist if we don't hang this guy by his thumbs, even though both you and I know that most level-headed people don't think he meant anything by it.

You cant speak for me, Im more level headed than most and im not sure that he meant no harm. Im sure that he is sorry that he made a freudian slip which held a clue to his real feelings, which to me is more harmful than had he come out and straight up said the "N" word. Dont assume to speak for level headed people, Im no knee jerk person who is offended by very much at all but any way you slice it the guy was a moron a screwed up not once but twice, once is a mis step, twice is just idiocy, anyone with any common sense knows that.

See what I mean by your not speaking for anyone else?.
