What Internet stations are good olides stations?

WHAT: Good stuff, to be sure.

But IMHO for this genre, Brad Chambers "Martini in the Morning" stream is absolutely as good as it gets.

Ricky the K's Solid Gold Time Machine www.60sradio.com

Saw video clips on You Tube...Ricky (or some un-named DJ) behind the console making segway between vintage commercials and songs...rather boorish and generic I think.

For a nominal membership fee I'd expect some distinctive personality along with the PAMS re-sings giving the station a more Top 40-authentic image.

Has anyone tried the 1650oldiesradio site lately? All you get is a vertical bar and an embedded wave file. No link to listen or anything.

I agree with 1650 Oldies Radio. The 24 kbs is purposely to make it sound like the quality of an average top 40 signal feel you picked up on your AM band at night back in 1969.

1650 Oldies Radio is now suddenly gone as of last week. The low quality audiostream is gone too and the website only shows a vertical line with an accapella jingle playing.
(what's the story here?)

Technically speaking, yes. And the music selection is pretty good, as well. But his constant identifying of "Martini in the Morning" has made it unlistenable at our place....we can't stand it any more, it's so aggravating....and we listened a lot when we first found that stream. IMHO you don't have to pound your ID online like they do with call-letters in terrestrial radio....especially for the agegroup he's trying to appeal to. Give me a good product and I'll make a point of learning its name.

I like to know myself......I forgot what section where the real Don Steele posts at. If you find his post, then you can ask him. He VT's there.

The Real Don Steele passed away almost 10 years ago!!!!!!!!

I've been "auditioning" 1Club FM over the weekende. Several 128k oldies streams including an overprocessed "malt shop" channel. Has anyone else here checked this out? Opinions?
