What is wrong with the audio on WYAY?

The gent using the Neumann here had a saying for new hires "Work away from the mic at least the length of your penis, or the length of the penis of your significant other". They did, it and his station ruled as far as on air sound.

I assume that the gent you are talking about is Bob Helbush. I hold Bob Helbush in high esteem both as an engineer and as a human being. Among Atlanta broadcast engineers, I also thought that Dick Byrd was really good.

Both are great guys and have made lasting contributions to the industry. Same for Littlejohn......

Thanks, I think - but (in my case, not the others) that speaks not so well for the industry as time passes, dontcha think? I go a new dog, how many head of chillun do you have around the house these days??

Change the mike to a Neumann U87 (I have those mikes by the way) and apply "Flat is where it's at" to the processing and you'll have it all. Thanks Bob.

You can't go wrong using the "Bush settings!"

If I told everyone about how you affected local radio when you showed up in ATL then your cover would be blown. It caused quite a bit of Valium/George Nichol abuse by a certain radio staff back in the day......
Still got the chillun (5) and dogs (2) and the cats (1 mama and 2 kitties.) Hope things are goin' well up yer way.
Isn't it time for BBQ again??

Aw that was 'fish in a barrel' and due mostly to a recently retired Cox exec. He did better 'guerilla radio ' than anybody... and if I had a station I'd hire his services. We had Moyes and The Research Group, his take was "They're a three - in - a- row jukebox. A good jukebox, but a jukebox. They can be had." He wasn't foolin'. The option was to go after The Bushman's outfit or Cox - nothing there in either case.

We missed having a Season Opener over Memorial day, may shoot for el forte de julio, I let ya know. Us professional drunks leave the roads to the amatuers on major holidays.
