It would be hard to answer my own question because there is so much room for improvement. No commercial venue for new music from "Classic" artists. Bowie, Springsteen, Alice Cooper, all have new releases and it's a big secret in Southern Louisiana. Classic Country? One venue, hard to catch. Big Bands, 40's and "Music of your Life"? Nowhere. Alternative Country like Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett, Kim Richey? OZ or "American Routes" if you're lucky. No venue. 24 hour Jazz? Look it up in the 800 section of your cable TV.
The number one "New Big Thing" I'd like to see in local radio? REAL Classic Rock. Not top 40, 50, 80, Real Classic Rock from The Summer of Love through today. New stuff from old rockers. A "WRNO" resurection. I'm tired of talk, I'm done with sports. Is it too much to ask? Apparently so.
What would be yours?
