Wait a second...First of all put the crack pipe down and perk your ears to this... In a recent article in the Rapid City, SD daily paper There was an article about a month ago that a small group of engineers located a unlicensed station in Minnesota - Similar scenario BUT... yes it was interfering with 2 stations and the regional airport's signals.
Word got out to a group of bikers in the minneapolis area who came to this small town and ripped the antenna down and cut the power to the place while the unlicensed operator was not home.
Needless to say the FCC had sent the operator a C&D notice without a fine. The unlicensed 100 watt facility has yet to return to the air.
Estimated damage was to the effect of 13 thousand US dollars.
This gives new meaning to "Vigilante Justice".
The Minnesota States Attorney says no charges will be filed against the engineers nor the bikers involved.
All that interference with 100 watts? Please, spare me. Did you know that Australia permits unlicenced micro broadcasters? Why not here. Y'know, frredom of expression, and all that.
