What will Champ do for mornings?

Give the job to Tim Kavanagh. I grew up two doors down from him in the New North End. Class act, personable, and recognizable as the host of "Late Night Saturday" on WCAX.

I find many thoughts on this board to be quite good so I'd love to hear more ideas from people about what they think we should do with the mornings on Champ. Out of the box thinking is welcome!

Corm and the Coach are done.
Did anybody even know they were still on the air? It's sort like the tree falling in the forest, nobody noticed.
And now Vox is taking over.
Will the last person out of that cluster please shut off the lights?
Thank you.

Ken,

My personal feeling is that you need to keep the morning show local and not syndicate it. One of the things that Vermonters cling to is the fact that there are people on the air who know the area and can relate directly to them. Find someone with strong local ties, who is well versed in Vermont politics and is aware of local sports and what is happening around here. I think that if you don't do that, the station will suffer a bit. (No, I am not lobbying for a job, my wife and I are Florida bound next month. ;D )

Just my two cents......

break open the bank for "The Logger" (Rusty DeWees)...that might be a stretch...

Kavanaugh is a good idea....

how 'bout the answer might just be in that building (Ft. Ethan Allen)...is there anybody cooler than Mary Cenci? Guys dig her, Ladies dig her, she fits the demo, pair her up with some wise-a-s guy, who's local..and there you go.....

I dunno Ken - I do agree that you should keep it local - but also keep it a radio person.
Kavanaugh is okay - but he's really not all that entertaining... (My personal opinion). What about a known and respected local radio person. I mean you've been doing this forever. I know you know some people. C & C are known enough - but perhaps a little tired Maybe re-vamp the show - (keeping it local) have a few new people in there. Get someone a bit crazy in there: controversy = ratings. Or someone to contributes tot he show that's crazy.
And as far as total show - What about Ken McKenzie? I hear he's not at CC in FLA anymore... What about Doug from Nassau - who's no longer at Nassau? ;-)

When are you fully taking over anyway?

Ken,

Hire two women to do am drive...

Bud:

An excellent suggestion… But you need the right women. Whoever it is has to be strong, smart, hip, and funny. I give Joy Hopkins my highest recommendation. Joy is one of the most talented and unique radio performers that I have ever known. And a real out of the box thinker. She is Gracie Allen and Camille Paglia all rolled into one. She also be great paired with Corm.

Ken if you want to get in touch with her drop me an email [email protected].

How about that Josh guy from KOOL 105 weekend shift. I heard he's pretty good.

Louie,

I think two Rock chicks...with the right attitude and balance(ones a little too crazy and ones a little too buttoned up)...is incredibley marketable in B Town and would make them stand out and sound completely different than any other morning show in a saturated market...

Just my 2 cents!

Ken Barlow needs to stop wasting time on the radio board and close the deal. It's been over two months since the fcc approved your sale and you haven't closed. Either you don't have the dough or you have a major problem....less talk and more action...Dan dubaney got the job done when hall bought Wizn and Wbtz. Really!

Urine… Nature’s own microbrew

Putting all the "watery stench humor" aside....I actually HAVE an idea for CHAMP and how to program it!

Of course....my programming suggestion wouldn't fall into the category of "COPYCAT RADIO"----so I guess there's no point in discussing it here? ::)
