What's happened Darby Douglas???

I must correct myself... Slickchick does sign her first name in a previous post... I noticed it the first time I read it, but had forgotten about it until she gently reminded me by email to go back and look.. Thanks for pointing it out and allowing me to humiliate myself instead of doing it for me. That was kind.
 
Kevin, I accuse you of common sense. I also wonder about those who plan ahead on their computers using the latest TxDot live shots. Where's the sense of adventure in that? I can't tell you how many times I've been driving and Facebooking at the same time and caused an accident that didn't show up on those silly cameras before I left the house.

Look, it's never been a big secret that ageism negatively affects women in television, thereby depriving the viewers of experience in favor of eye candy. The question is, how to change it?

By the way... I was upset for Darby losing his gig more because he's a friend and i hated to see it happening to him... not so much for the reason it happened. I hardly ever watched his reports because TV traffic made little sense to me since I don't watch tv in my car when I am on the road... I guess it works for those who plan ahead and have the TV on before they leave the house.

Thats all.

Oh yes one more thing.. If Jan Carson, Shara Fryer, or Jan Glenn were doing the TV news again it would be fine with me.

he will be missed and they let go of dan meador at the beginning of the year he was with the station for over 30 years, the only one that would be good imo is david paul, I used to watch ch. 11 morning news since '96 since the hurricane I have gone to ch.13 mainly because of casey curry... ;D
 
Just wanted to throw this in but a lot of my friends that are women, are very turned off by Channel 2 chick. She looks inappropriate in MANY of her outfits! I thought Darby was great. I miss him and the other two replacements these last three weeks have been weak in my opinion. Oh well.
 
Something HAS happened to Darby

I read on another local message board today that Metro Traffic has fired Darby, and he is now completely UNemployed. It was posted by someone who claims to know Darby personally.

Anybody here know anything about that?
 
Its true. I got an email from him yesterday. 18 years of service...then gone.
