What's happening at live???

I've been checking Live's current 'top songs' and 'song log' at yes.com, and I see no evidence of any selections beyond the typical diet of contemporary and classic alt rock. Eminem's 'Not Afraid' is no. 10 in current top songs and there's nothing unusual about that (bearing in mind that alternative was the first format to break Eminem over a decade ago). Any airplay of the La Roux song at Live doesn't seem to be registering....maybe it was a one-off misfire in Selector.

I've heard it to during the day.Live seems to be boucing all over the place with its format.I am now convinced that a format change is immenent,I'll bet on soon after the next Arbs come out
Naw, I don't think anything will happen anytime soon. Live just picked up Raiders football, and CBS hasn't seemed to care about their ratings for awhile. If I am wrong, I wonder if 105.3 would pick up the Pulse format running on KMVQ's HD2? I know what everyone is going to say about the format being dance and all, but KNGY supposedly made tons of money off their product.
It could happen, It wouldn't be the first time CBS has moved a successful HD-2 to analog.AMP 97.1 in LA was on 93.1 Jack FM HD-2 before it came to 97.1 taking over one of the last Free FMs. I think the only other formats they could bring to Live are Jack or Sports, both unliklely. And here's a past thread about Live's format change "rumor" on April 1 http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=165371.0

I agree that there isn't really any evidence of Live not being an alt. rock station. Alternative does play some rap/hip-hop too, and Live 105 has added a few more of these lately (Eminem, Travie McCoy, Mike Posner, and, as a recurrent, Jay-Z's "99 Problems") but that isn't the majority of their playlist. I think it flows pretty well too.

Re: Bulletproof. Live 105 is indeed playing this during their free for all, weeknights 8-12 where they have mostly the regular catalog to pick from and a few other songs, some of which are dancy like "Bulletproof," "Day N Nite (Remix)" and others which are pretty standard mid-obscurity alt-rock songs that Live 105 doesn't play during the rest of the day (i.e. I Was a Teenage Anarchist," "Amongst the Waves." Usually these types of songs only last for a few months and then get taken out. Anyway, I don't think a few spins of "Bulletproof" during the evening hours is a bad thing for an alternative station. It's not like it's the generic pop song.
