What's Next For 94.5?

I am confused? Clear Channel wants to take WJMN off 94.5 and move it to 94.9 in Worcester or simulcast 94.5 on 94.9 in Worcester....

No as far as I know 94.5 WJMN stays the same but they would want to re-broadcast it (translator)
on 94.9, a smaller station in Worc. that currently simulcasts WTAG 580. As far as I know
WJMN won't change format unless they re-tool it Urban (prob not). But we'll see how Hot 96.9
does in the ratings. Would CC change it if 94.5 were to tank? No changes now though.

I was gonna say... if they were to get rid of 94.5, somebody at Clear Channel has really lost their mind. Despite their recent problems, the station has been around for 20 years and still performs well (not as good as it used to though).

i thought this said they wanted wtag to be on 94.5 so more people could hear it. Now i understand :)

I'd love to see Greater Media spice up WROR. Keep it classic hits but the personalities are ZzZZzZZzz. Needs better production as well. I know i would listen more.

Yep, Loren and Wally!

I used to think that certain things would never happen in radio, but after this past year, I no longer believe that is true.

After the BDG (Boston Dance Glut) 94.5 will return to "Boston's Best Rock" with the WCOZ calls. Mark Parenteau will do mornings, Capt. Ken Shelton Midday, Lesley and Lisa will team up in Afternoon Drive and Jerry -The Duke of Madness - Goodwin at night. Overnight will feature the DJ or the Day (or night) including tracks by Oedipus, Dick Summer, Clark, Robert Desiderio, Wild Willy Smiff, Hillary Stevens and Duane Glasscock. You just never no with radio. Especially these daze.

CC's new Talk94.5 with a couple local hosts (Katz? E&B? Graham) and the rest syndie--hey it didn't
work on 1200 but we're trying it again!

Yeah and the Pats are gonna win the Super Bowl...

...

...some other year
(CC does have a "RushRadio94.5" in NC...talk)

I wish!

Was just looking over their playlist. Jam'n is terrible. Instead of adding Rihanna's "Pour It Up" like MOST Rhythmic CHR's have had, they're still playing "Diamonds" (and not even the REMIX) in power. They are garbage. Always the last to add stuff, and 3-4 months behind everyone else. I'd take ANYTHING over what's on 94.5 at this point. And all I see on FB and elsewhere is everyone loving Hot 96.9 and making the switch there. Jam'n is in trouble, they better do something to stop the bleeding fast.

Pour It Up has been in rotation for the last month. Where have you been? On Saturday I heard it at 1 PM and then again at like 2:30. They are doing things... but I am afraid that its a little too late.

They are starting to do the U.DJ Weekend/Throwback Thursdays and so forth where users text and vote for songs on the website. Will see where that goes.

Hmmm... didn't see it on their main playlist on their site. I have only heard it on mixshows, but I guess I could be wrong. My mistake if so. I guess they are trying. Picking up Chubb was a good look though. I hope it's a sign of things to come.

P.S. Have you listened to Hot 104.7 out of Maine? They are ok...very rhythmic, similar to Amp, but I believe Amp might even throw more hip hop in their mix.

Listening to WJMN this morning.... They are bringing back the throwbacks that they haven't played in a while....

Ray J - Sexy Can I
Kanye West - Gold Digger
The Game - Hate It Or Love It

War is on :)

Yes and I also notice more Urban and less Top 40. Perhaps they finally are starting to do something!!
