I listened to the package, and I personally think it sounds too "cutting edge" for a 60's/70's hit music station like WODS. TMCI and JAM do superb jobs on oldies station imaging, and TGP doesn't fall that far behind, but Groove Addicts should stay away from oldies. If you notice, Oldies 103.3 is the only oldies station running a package like that. Most others are using TMCI, JAM, or TGP. There are very few oldies stations that have packages from companies other than those.

I feel the same way, and the only reason I think that I feel this way is that the package is heard on MANY oldies stations around the country. There are a countless number of stations with the original "Super Hits," and the cuts indeed get old after a while. Super Hits 4, though, I think is not bad.

WQSR/Baltimore, before the flip, used TGP's SH4 package, and it sounded pretty good with Jim Merkel's voiceovers and some of the left over WCBS-FM '04 custom re-sings. In fact, the top of the hour sounded excellent. It was actually the original Super Hits Cut 1 ramp, and at the end, right after "102.7 WQSR," when the jingles was actually over, the group sang an a cappella "BAL-TI-MORE," and it sounded fantastic!

Personally, I enjoy oldies stations that have jingles from JAM and TMCI a little bit more. The WCBS-FM JAM 2004 custom sounds excellent, and I must say that I think it is one of the best oldies station packages, if not my favorite. WKOL in Plattsburgh, NY is currently using it and is streaming on the web at www.wkol.com . Too bad CBS-FM isn't the one still using them!

true.....but if you go by the branding theory of a jing....and you are adding 80s....maybe but your point is well taken...
