What's up with 91.5?

I hope I am wrong. I LOVE the 80's and hope this format continues. But SOMETHING has gotta change. Robb has to pay the bills somehow.

It's a well-known fact that Columbus is one of the most "Gay" cities in the U.S. I recall hearing on National TV (can't remember what network) in the early 90's that it was #3 overall.

And just a side note...my gf works at a Columbus-based financial institution. Last night she mentioned that a latin gentlemen came in saying he needed a loan. She didn't remember his name, but the amount of the loan was VERY large. The loan officer asked him what he wanted to use the money for and he said he needed it for a new radio station here in Columbus that he was starting up.
 
Columbus still in fact has the 3rd largest gay population in the country. 1=San Fran, 2=Atlanta., 3=Columbus.
 
Come on people, OBVIOUSLY Columbus DOESN'T have the 3rd largest gay population in the US!  That's just preposterous.  In absolute numbers, New York, LA, SF and Chicago would all have larger gay populations, slam-dunk.  And that's just for starters.

Maybe what you guys mean is 3rd largest gay PERCENTAGE (vs. absolute population), but until someone can state a specific statistic, giving a specific credible source that did a credible study, those are merely "funny numbers" that have zero credibility.  And I'd be very surprised if anyone could actually produce that credible information to back up the statements.

BTW,  I'm *not* disputing that Columbus has a large and highly visible gay population for a city of its size.  Yes, that's common knoweldge.  Outside of Chicago, maybe Columbus has the most visible -- and conceivably even the largest -- absolute gay population IN THE MIDWEST (although, Detroit's an awfully large city...) I've seen articles, too, including a big series the Dispatch did a few years ago which sent a number of um, "social conservatives" into a tizzy.  But I don't recall seeing any statistics like "#2" or "#3" in any broad, meaningful statistic.  Those claims just don't have any credibility.  If anyone can produce anything other than "I recall hearing/seeing" type statements, then maybe I'll have to eat my words.

Anyway, getting back to the radio implications...even if the gay poulation were large, is musical taste among gays homogeneous enough to make this a viable core target for a successful music station?
 
Alternative music for the alternative lifestyle community -- makes sense to me! But blend in "new" Sixties and Seventies, and make it the good alternative of the '80s as opposed to the lousy alternative of the '90s and 2000s. And make the total package so irresistibly appealing that it won't matter what orientation you are -- you'll love it regardless.
Um, cadkins6739, you were about to say something back there at the end of page 2?
