What's up with Liz? - FM 97 (96.9)

Bond was fine and popular for some time, but even he burned out, while he was still on WNNK. His shtick got old. If he was that great, he would still be on the air here or somewhere bigger. Didn't he attempt some work in the New Orleans area and bombed big time?

Actually there was recently a story on Ch 27's website about Bond--he's out of jail, knows he effed up bigtime in a few ways, and would like to get back on the air. And if Elliott Spitzer can land a TV gig, there's certainly hope for Bruce. Meanwhile, Twerp, several people have asked---just what have YOU done lately that makes you such an expert?

oh, wow, GREAT GREAT point. I actually have to be on the air to have a correct opinion about local radio shows. Bruce Bond is/was the only entertaining local radio show this area has seen.

I agree that FM97 is nothing that I would ever intentionally listen to - however, I feel that there are a couple of really good morning shows in the area. Nipsey, Earl and Jen on 105.7, and Kim and Scott on 107.7

uh, Nipsey/Earl/Jen are awful. if you think Earl is funny then you have issues. Nipsey and Jen probably have in their contracts that they must laugh at him - that is the only explanation. every once in a while they will have a funny bit, but for the most part it is all forced laughter and forced bits

Ok-----Rating the local morning shows by local entertainment value----one man's opinion

1. Nipsey Earl & Jen----105.7 the X
2. Murf & Casey.....WIOV
3. Brian/Liz......FM 97
4. Dennis/Michelle/Justin---The Rose
5. Dave/Diane....SOX

Honorable mention goes to the Peak morning show and Nancy & Newman at Bob

But that's it....

If you are gonna talk @#$% to the extent that you are, yeah.. Let us know when you're on the air, and show us how a real pro does it. It's one thing to say Bruce Bond is great on the air, which I agree with you, but not to the detriment of other talented people. You went on a slugfest trashing a lot of people. And if you are going to attack them about the manner in which they practice skills that took them years to develop, that's fine and dandy, as long as you have some results to back them up with. And not for nothing, the people in the business who have been consistently good for a long time, would not stoop to publicly humiliate people who might not perform to a level such as theirs. I think that Liz / Bryan do a fine job, as does Nipsey, Earl and Jen. You went to a lot of trouble to embarrass some talented people with your drivel. If these people do such a shoddy job, remember that on many radios, the largest dial changes the station. Just don't listen.

Obviously The Amish Twerp has no idea what he's saying. I grew up with many morning shows in the area. I moved to the west coast in the 90s, to Pittsburgh for 11 years and back to Lancaster recently so I can tell you some observations about morning radio. Bruce Bond was a decent afternoon guy in his day. I remember when he was on WTPA before it switched to WINK and thought it was a good move that he stayed at WINK. But as for local morning shows throughout the last couple of decades, I can clearly say that Jen, Nipsey and Earl are NOT at all any sort of Howard Stern wannabe, they are orginal and local talent. They're funny and not obnoxious like some I've heard in other markets. I used to like Weems in the morning, Cadillac Jack, some of the Starview 92 a.m. shows, Coffee (sp? RIP Ed) and the Jammer, and Casey Allen over the years too and they were all as good as Bruce Bond. But to say the morning talents are no good tells me all you were doing is trying to pick a fight.

Last Saturday night, I saw Ed at a Hershey Bears game, he appeared to be alive and well.. It was Jeff who sadly passed on.

there is no point in arguing with you. judging by your posts you HAVE to be on the air on a local station because it looks like you are afraid to say a negative word about anyone....so, please spare me the lectures when you have no guts to speak your mind.

here is a memo to 105.7 : when running promos for their morning show it is always good to try and play a clip that actually, ya know, is, ummmmm, FUNNY. my god, whoever is in charge of choosing clips to run from their show should be fired. as much as I dislike their show, I know there must be a few funny spots they could pick.

I wish that 101.3 breakfast show would offer some morning show recorded cd's to buy!...Man that is some awesome stuff!...surely over the years there must be a "Best of CD" out there?...

I would hope that they must be thinking SYNDICATION at some point?

So Terp, what you're saying is you're not on the air, and you can't do better than the people you're trashing?

And I don't mean to bore you with my pointless lectures. But if you're gonna call me gutless, why don't you step out from behind your anonymous screen name?

Are you expecting something edgy or a morning funhouse on an adult contemporary station?

the one morning show that I do find entertaining is on the Rose. I will add that. I forgot about that one. I dont listen but if I would, I do enjoy that one
