Seriously, I hope it gets fixed soon. The audio's been great ever since that tune-up a few years ago. But when I got in the car last night and heard Eddie Money singing "Take me ho-- ... -ight, I don't wanna let you ... -orning light," I bailed out and switched to Sirius XM!
The problem with West Peak is there is very little in the way of data services up there, no DSL whatsoever. The phone lines don't come up "Copper Ridge" where the electrical does (that would be TOO easy!) but underground allllll the way up the road (hence the manholes).
I looked into this awhile back for another station. Microwave... pfft... there are ways around terrain, so what if it happens in 2 hops.
But the long and short of this is... there is absolutely NO excuse for it to go as long as it has been. Sometimes, the engineers have to make a first class pain in the a** of themselves. It worked for years, why isn't it working now? The phone company best just replace every card in line from Bloomfield to Meriden and sort it out later. One AT&T guy, dedicated to the problem, could troubleshoot with finesse in a few hours, just go from hop to hop and I dunno... actually LISTEN?
I had my DirecTV/Dish/Fios/RCN/et-al fiber die the other morning. Restoration in 45 minutes.
