WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE "RADIO" APP?

I just downloaded this app, and I'm addicted to it. I still can't understand why it doesn't have Clear Channel stations, though.

Clear Channel's lawyers probably sent RadioTime.com (TunedIn's parent) a letter "advising" them (read: Threatening to sue them out of existence) not to put CC streams in the TunedIn app. I don't know how they got permission to include everybody else. Maybe they only take stations off that object, like Clear Channel. If there's no gripe, then it's OK?

One more thing I love about TuneInRadio - it starts off with "local" stations - giving you an approximation of what you'd hear on a terrestrial tuner - including the HD channels. A nod to the regional appeal of local radio.

Yes, that is convenient. However, it's not totally accurate. My location is about midway between Chicago and Milwaukee - but a smidge closer to Chicago. When I do the "local stations" thing, it only gives me Chicago market stations with the sole exception of WTMJ 620 from Milwaukee. That is not representative of reception in my area.

Granted, Chicago signals are stronger than most Milwaukee ones but there are exceptions where the reverse is true. None of those exceptions (e.g. WMYX 99.1, WKKV 100.7) are anywhere to be found on my "local" stations tab. So, I think that they still need to tweak that part of the app a bit.

Otherwise, yes, I am absolutely addicted to this now! Not to mention that I actually get to listen to ALL of American Top 40 (The 70s) thanks to the recording ability of the app. I don't even have to get up at 7 am on Sunday morning to do it - I just set it and forget it! Awesome bit of technology.
