When Will THe Analog Nightlight Service End?

dhett said:
In Phoenix, KTVK 3 was supposed to end July 12 and KPHO 5 June 26; however, both ended nightlight on June 26.

And if you search YouTube, you can find a video of the viewing of the digital switchover of KPHO 5 - on a 1948 TV!

Right around midnight, Channels 2 & 5 just went blank - right in mid sentence.

All I get now for analog is one LP WFXZ-24, barely.

I wonder if any analog or nightlight TV stations even carried the Michael Jackson memorial service a few days ago...

Nightlighting stations only air DTV info. Unless there are ABC NBC CBS stations that have towers in Baja CA.

I thought I read that if there was breaking news or weather, the station could carry that on analog. Though I felt that Jacko's death very hardly qualifies as breaking news.
I just thought of something. "Big Brother" contestants aren't supposed to know about the outside world, but they were told about September 11. Wonder if they were told about Michael?

Also, low-power analog Channel 23 WWME-CA is now airing fulltime the WCIU programming (except for the WMAQ and WGN newscasts).

The station is no longer airing 'MeTV' (classic reruns) anymore, instead simulcasting the programming of their full-power parent station.
I was under the impression they were doing WLS and WBBM newscasts since so many people can't pick up those stations.

Jackson's death occurred June 25th. The houseguests moved in July 5th and were likely sequestered from June 29th or 30th.

In addition, they were only notified of the events of September 11, 2001 because houseguest Monica Bailey's cousin was missing following the attack.

I didn't know when they taped the show.
