KSEV appears to be an ego project for Dan Patrick, at least from here.

Hi Artie, thank you so much for your email...yes, you are completely correct in your findingsDan Patrick still owns KVCE AM1160 but has recently entered a lease agreement with Salem Communications, and as of January 1st all programming is managed through Salem Communications. The format has changed to Business/Finance and Sports in the late evenings and some on weekends.
Dan's radio show can be heard on KVCE AM1160 from 7-8pm Mon-Thurs (occasional pre-emption for sports).
When you have time please visit our website for our new program lineup: www.KVCEradio.com
I will forward your message on to Senator Patrick...he truly enjoys hearing from his listenersBy the way, Dan's show is also heard in the Houston market on KSEV.

Yes, I'm from Texas and did meet him at KSEV radio in Houston. I also confused the two at times in the past few years.

Dr. Jeffrey "Jake" Baker, my husband (Katie Baker), will be the host and he has been a radio talk show host and guest speaker for over 20 years. He is the author of 4 books and has been on radio and television across the land. We are excited about this fantastic opportunity to be of service to you, our fellow patriots!

My apologies for assuming otherwise - I didn't know you had any background in Texas.
The confusion is made double by the Houston Dan Patrick's TV sports career!

As for KVCE - It's still owned by Patrick under the name of Dallas Communications - and it has been LMA'd to Salem - it took effect on January 3rd, 2011 - Salem completely rebranded the station to fit into their business talk format.
The "Baker and Patrick Show" airs in Dallas on KVCE ONLY from 7-8pm - and it's actually a rebroadcast of what was aired in Houston from 4-5pm - KVCE Dallas only takes the first hour of the show. air it from 7-8pm.
How do I know these things - well, let's just say a little bird told me - and no, that little bird was not Chris Baker.
Next Question???
FOR KSEV Radio (700 AM), these certainly are the days of thunder. The station, which sputtered for its first 2 1/2 years on the air, has gotten on the fast track in the past six months.
KSEV is zipping by more established Houston stations in the audience ratings, thanks, in part, to its sports programming.
During the winter, the station cracked the Arbitron quarterly ratings - the bible of the radio business - for the first time since signing on in 1987 (as KTBT ). Indications are that it will double its audience in the spring "book," which comes out later this month.
"When we took over the station (about a year ago), we knew it would take some time to get off the ground. But we're way ahead of schedule," said Dan Patrick, who doubles as general manager and host of the weekday-morning show.
Katy radio and TV personality Dan Patrick is back in broadcasting, but as he puts it, "not back to my craziness, but I am back to my opinionated ways."
Most fans of Patrick remember him for his "off the cuff and irreverent" KHOU-TV Channel 11 sportscasts
Television viewers either loved him or hated him, but watched to see what he might do next. Patrick captured first place in viewer polls as top sportscaster in the Houston television market.
When station ownership at KHOU-TV changed, word came down that the commentaries and craziness that earmarked Patrick's broadcasts would have to cease.
In 1988, I bought this little AM radio station, KTBT , in Tomball, changed its call letters to KSEV and also its format to talk radio."
One day in 1989 a guy by the name of Rush Limbaugh called and the rest was history.
gabigley1 said:KSEV signed on the air as KTBT, late Summer of 1987. The owner, CCC-Houston AM programed music when they owned the station. Dan Patrick LMA the station in the summer of 1988 and changed the call letters to KSEV on October, 31 1988. In March of 1989, he purchased the station
from CCC Houston AM, after receive FCC approval a couple of months earlier.
