Corby is a good broadcaster, but let's tap those breaks about his genius bits overshadowing Greg's absence. When friendly Kooby is gone, posts are creeping because of him. I would venture to say the only reason 25% of the audience keeps listening is waiting to Greg to come back.

Ebola, you are dead on about the accidental mishap that is the Ticket. Remember the late night "bobstermshow"? If certain people didn't completely suck on-air or lose their cool with management, BaD radio wouldn't have a good spot. Speaking of KLIF, can you imagine KTCK with FISH instead of Norm? ;D

You know, HIPPA laws may be why they aren't saying anything...In this day and age of patient confidentiality, stations are very limited in what they can and can't say.

Hell, I had a HR person tell me I can't ask WHY someone is taking a sick day. As long as they have it, it's a violation of their medical privacy to ask them WTF is going on...
 
So to come full circle, whether Greggo is sick, looking after Clyde and (God forbid) having a relapse, you would think as successful as that lil' stations is, they would realize it's because of the loyalists that listen to the Hardline... and they may let folk know where he is.

I think that post makes it pretty obvious that something serious is going on. I hope he hasn't had a painkiller relapse, but if it were a general health issue that needed addressing I would think they would discuss it. For Mike to simply say 'we don't know when he'll be back' leads me to believe that the HL's days may be numbered.

The HL definitely needs the husky hugger. No more "Do you like this gig?" "Huh?" and front porch witticism?? Say it ain't so. Corby is also much better as the off the bench, 6th man of the show. He gets a little overexposed 3 hours per day.

Perhaps - and I may be going out on a limb here - but perhaps the reason for Greg's absence is nobody's business. Just because you're on the public airwaves doesn't mean that the public has the right to know everything going on in your life. Un-wad your undergarments and accept that this may be none of your business.

Also, in reference to those upset over Reiner's curt replies to programming/content suggestions from listeners - I would imagine you would illicit the same attitude (even though not as "lyrically" presented) from the makers of Coca Cola or Dial Soap if you ventured to suggest how they could improve their products as well. Sometimes, a product is created to be utilized on its own merit - and if one doesn't care for that "merit", one can go elsewhere and find a "merit" that it does like. Not arrogance, just, "this is our product. If you like it, tell your friends. If you don't, we hope you find a product that you do like".

Ape, completely agreed. To the constant questions, "Where is he" that pilfer inboxes all over the Ticket, I would say, "Out".

That's too many to answer. But to ignore it like the 800 lb. gorilla in the room is ridiculous. Do a reset and let folk know that he is out on personal leave and we look forward to him coming back soon. To leave the listeners that help go the advertisers that pay the bills ( ;D~ yeah, I get it too) hanging in the dark is a bit prepubescent. IJS 8)
 
Another incoherent post from VDV for sure.

Optimism must abound at 1310 since there are so many Greggo drops (do you like this gig?) and even Line4 Guy (whoever he is??) asked "where's Greggo" and then said "I'm sorry, that was a a drop".

There have been issues of concern for some time; for example, if you saw the body language during the Cowboys training camp webcam broadcast you saw the lack of physical interaction between Greggo and the rest of the cast, and Greg's increasing negativity. No doubt there is tension within the HL but also, they are pro's and they recognize the value of the ensemble.

There have been some very negative comments on other websites but I think anyone that cares about radio cares about someone like Greg who has been a mainstay in Dallas radio from more than a decade.

I'll go on record and say it: Greg deserves better than the Little Ticket can afford. Im curious if that means he'll be finding a new venure, abeit in another market or on sat radio/tv to apply his trade.
 
Mike touched on this again today and gave the same 'personal time' answer and moved on. Clearly this has to be some sort of health-related issue. It can't be business-related or we would really get the silent treatment. I understand he deserves his privacy so its just up to the urban legendites to keep us filled in.. i.e. 'thumb stomach'

some people want to make ugly or snide remarks but I'm with Grumpy, I hope things work out for Greg and that if it's a health issue, that he's able to work through it.

during a segment today, Rhyner made a passing comment about knowing what it was like to work with someone with a drug problem.
